At its core, Crime Stoppers is a three-part partnership between law enforcement, the media, and the public—working together to solve crimes and build safer communities. The program empowers the public to report crime-related information anonymously, without fear of retaliation, and with the option of a cash reward.
Tips can be submitted by phone at (805) 549-STOP (7867). Your call is never recorded and there is no caller ID. The trained Crime Stoppers Coordinator, who may be a law enforcement officer or civilian staff member, collects the tip information, verifies basic details, and relays the information to the appropriate investigators.
Visit www.p3tips.com to submit a tip through our secure and anonymous online platform. The P3 Tips system allows for real-time, two-way communication between you and Crime Stoppers—without ever revealing your identity.

Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest or significant break in a case. Our community-based Board of Directors, made up of local volunteers, meets bimonthly to evaluate eligible tips and determine reward amounts. All rewards are distributed confidentially. Many tipsters choose to forgo the reward, simply wanting to help their community.
Crime Stoppers has helped solve thousands of crimes—including serious offenses like homicide, robbery, and drug trafficking—thanks to tips from everyday people. But the success of Crime Stoppers is about more than just numbers. It also builds:
Trust between the community and law enforcement
Awareness of local crime issues
Involvement by giving people a safe and simple way to help
Crime Stoppers is funded entirely by donations from individuals, businesses, and community groups. No taxpayer dollars are used. This grassroots support allows the program to remain independent, trusted, and responsive.
Whether you want to help solve a case or just make your neighborhood a little safer—Crime Stoppers gives you a voice.
